GTA Workshop: Preparing for a Successful First Day of Class

Workshop Description

In this hands-on workshop we will share evidence-based methods for a successful first day of class. Designed with Graduate Teaching Assistants in mind, we will discuss approaches for creating a welcoming learning environment, facilitating a first day of class activity, and setting your students up for success. This workshop aims to help you feel more confident in communicating your course expectations, course policies, and the expected learning outcomes to your students. Teaching assistants, faculty members, instructors, and instructional staff are welcome to attend. Please bring your laptop to this workshop session.
