Current Projects
Aligned Generative AI Course PoliciesA transparent framework for developing a course-level GenAI policy, the Aligned Generative AI Course Policy begins with an analysis of student tasks by inventorying each step a student would take that leads to a finished product of their learning. Each task in the inventory is reviewed by the instructor as they ask themselves: “what, specifically, am I assessing?” This manuscript is currently under review.
Development-Focused Peer Review of Teaching
Sarah’s work on the Development-Focused Peer Review of Teaching began during her time at Texas A&M University as a way to more equitably peer review those who were teaching at a distance in the School of Education and Human Development. This research project received funding from the POD Network. Now in phase two, the Development-Focused Peer Review of Teaching is a signature program – for those teaching in any modality – through the WVU Teaching and Learning Center. This project aims to provide time and space for formative, development-focused peer review while building a culture of supportive, holistic evaluation of teaching practices.
