Applications for Spring Semester have been paused as the university updates the curriculum for the Certificate in University Teaching. New applications will be accepted for the Fall 2026 semester. Updates and information, as well as a new application portal, will be posted on this page as these become available.
You must be enrolled in a WVU graduate program and in good standing (meeting the minimum GPA for your graduate program). To avoid losing potential credits and to ensure that you will have a sufficient amount of time to complete the certificate, we strongly encourage you to either apply or reach out to the Teaching and Learning Center with your questions as soon as you think you may be interested. You can always withdraw later if needed.
To be considered for the Certificate, the following forms will need to be completed:
- First, meet with your graduate advisor to discuss the Certificate in University Teaching, your professional goals for teaching at the college or university level, and how you will complete the Teaching Practicum (3 credit hours).
- Your graduate advisor will complete the Advisor Approval Form
- Prepare a CV or resume and upload your file as a PDF in the Student Application Form
